Final grades, and the main components of those grades (as shown in the
syllabus).
Notes: These are arranged by ID number (not by class time). The % for each
component of the final grade is shown in your syllabus. I gave everyone a
"gift" of 5 points on the final exam. If you missed Speech Day (oral final
exam) due to illness, see the note at the bottom, and talk to the Dean of
the Foreign Languages Department next year (if appropriate). If you have
other questions, you can write to me by email, but be patient--it may be
August before I can reply! Have a good summer!

Regarding Speech Day marks:
9.5 is exceptional
9 is very good
8 is good (average)
7 below average
6 barely acceptable
Less than 6 meant that you had a transcript, were
over/under time, or otherwise ignored my rules
Write to me if you want more details.
Notes from your syllabus:
If you must be absent, send a message to the monitor’s
phone so we know where you are, but no notes, email, phone calls, etc. to
the teacher are required. However, after your first two absences (for any
reason), additional absences will deduct 2 points from your final grade.
You are also responsible for getting any handouts and for finding out what
we studied in class and what homework was assigned or collected. Regarding
homework, be sure you follow the rules in the “welcome sheet.”
How I plan to determine your grade (the teacher reserves
the right to adjust these percentages)
Attendance (8 points, minus 2 for each absence after missing two classes)
8%
Speech Day 22%
Speech Day outline and discussion question 10%
Quiz (vocabulary and pre-video preparation) 10%
Exam 40%
In class evaluation/"daily grade" 10%
